THE PROCESS
Five steps. Five to ten days.
Most customers go from "I should test" to "here are my numbers" in two weeks. Most of that time is the lab analysis itself — your part takes about 10 minutes.

Order Your Kit
Pick by situation, contaminant, or use the 4-question Kit Finder. Ships within 1 business day.

INSIDE THE LAB
25+ years. NY ELAP-Certified. Federal methods every time.
Your samples are analyzed by our NY ELAP-certified partner laboratory — an environmental lab with over two decades of work supporting municipal water utilities, industrial hygienists, and environmental consultants. Sacred Sampling is the direct-to-consumer channel; we handle the kit, the chain of custody, and your results so you don't need to navigate the lab industry yourself.
25+ Years Certified
Decades of accredited environmental testing, maintained through ongoing proficiency tests and audits.
NY ELAP Certified
Accredited under New York's Environmental Laboratory Approval Program, one of the strictest in the country.
200.8 EPA Method ID
The standard ICP-MS method for measuring trace metals like lead and arsenic in water.
1 ppb Detection Floor
Detects contaminants as low as one part per billion - about a single drop in an Olympic-size pool.

THE QR INSERT
Why a Digital Chain of Custody Beats the Paper One.
Traditional environmental lab kits ship with a multi-part carbon-paper Chain of Custody form you have to fill out, fold, and mail back. Half of customer complaints in the lab industry trace back to that form: missing signatures, illegible handwriting, mismatched sample IDs.
Tamper-evident from your kitchen
Your QR scan timestamps the moment you sealed the sample. No backdating, no missing signatures.
Real-time tracking
Watch your sample move from your house to the lab to the report. Same view your customer service team has.
Lab-acceptable for legal use
The digital COC is accepted by our partner lab for documentation in insurance claims, real estate disclosures, and tenant disputes.
Add tests after the kit ships
Decide you want the E. coli add-on after you collect? Add it at registration. The second bottle in your kit covers it.

COLD CHAIN & TIME- SENSITIVITY
Some samples are alive. We treat them that way.
Bacteria, VOCs, and PFAS samples behave differently than metals. Every kit ships with a frozen gel pack and an insulated mailer — and where the sample needs more, we tell you exactly what's required.

Critical Cold Chain
Microbial samples (E. coli, Coliform, Legionella) and VOC samples must arrive cold. Bacteria multiply or die off based on temperature.

Preservative Coated
Heavy-metal and nitrate bottles arrive pre-dosed with the lab-required preservative. Your sample is stabilized the moment you cap.

Standard Shipping
Passive air badges, surface wipes, asbestos cassettes, and bulk material samples are not temperature-sensitive. Standard return shipping.
Hardware Store Strip
$20 Strip Test
Detects only at parts-per-million (1,000× less sensitive)
Pass / fail — no actual numbers
Color reading subjective
No record, no documentation, no defensibility
Limited to 4–6 contaminants per strip
No method ID, no certification, no lab accountability
Sacred Sampling Lab Kit
Lab Analysis
Parts-per-billion (μg/L) — EPA-grade sensitivity
Quantified results: an actual number, not a color
Same instruments municipal water utilities use (ICP MS)
Digital chain of custody — usable for claims and disputes
Up to 60+ analytes per panel
NY ELAP-certified lab.
ANALYTES EXPLAINED
Analytes are the specific substances, indicators, or biological markers measured during laboratory testing. Each analyte provides targeted insight into environmental conditions that may influence residential, occupational, or product exposure pathways.
Results are interpreted based on concentration, environmental medium, sampling context, and potential exposure pathways, recognizing that significance depends on use, duration, and setting.
ANALYTE | ROUTE OF EXPOSURE | POTENTIAL HEALTH AFFECTS |
|---|---|---|
Arsenic | Ingestion | Skin changes, increased cancer risk with long-term exposure |
Copper | Ingestion | Gastrointestinal irritation at elevated levels |
Chromium | Ingestion | Potential carcinogenic risk with prolonged exposure |
Nitrates | Ingestion | Methemoglobinemia (especially in infants), oxygen transport interference |
BTEX | Ingestion | Bone marrow suppression (benzene), nervous system effects |
VOCs (Chlorinated solvents) | Ingestion / Inhalation | Liver and kidney effects, central nervous system impacts |
PFAS | Ingestion | Thyroid disruption, immune system effects, developmental concerns (long-term exposure) |
VOCs | Inhalation | Headaches, dizziness, respiratory irritation |
Formaldehyde | Inhalation | Eye/throat irritation, respiratory symptoms |
Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂) | Inhalation | Airway inflammation, asthma aggravation |
carbon Monoxide (CO) | Inhalation | Oxygen deprivation, acute toxicity at high levels |
Radon | Inhalation | Increased lung cancer risk with long-term exposure |
Particulate Matter | Inhalation | Cardiovascular and respiratory impacts |
Heavy Metals in Dust | Ingestion / Inhalation | Neurological and developmental concerns |
Biological Indicators | Contact / Inhalation | Allergic reactions, respiratory symptoms |
Surfactant Residues | Contact | Skin irritation in sensitive individuals |
Heavy Metals | Ingestion / Dermal | Chronic toxicity depending on metal |
Legacy Industrial Contaminants | Ingestion | Varies by compound; may include carcinogenic or organ-specific risks |
Lead | Ingestion (drinking water) | Neurological effects, developmental impacts in children, cardiovascular effects |
