Choose the room — the laundry, the space near a refrigeration unit, the room with the litter tray, or wherever cleaning products are used or stored. The badge captures ammonia onto a chemically treated collection medium as it diffuses in. At the laboratory the medium is extracted into solution and the ammonium ion is measured by ion chromatography, which separates ions on an analytical column and quantifies them by conductivity.
