Comprehensive Kit

Our broadest chemistry panel - volatile organics, metals, and minerals for the full story of your water.

$275/ kit
What it tests for
  • VOCs: Benzene, Vinyl Chloride, MTBE, Trichloroethylene (TCE) and more
  • 13 heavy metals: Lead, Arsenic, Copper, Chromium and more
  • Chloride (Cl-)
  • Fluoride (F-)
Why it matters

VOCs (volatile organic compounds) enter water from fuel leaks, dry cleaning, industrial solvents, and degreasers. Benzene is a known leukemia-causing carcinogen; vinyl chloride and TCE are also carcinogens; MTBE is a fuel additive that makes water taste of turpentine at tiny concentrations.

Because VOCs evaporate, they're easy to miss - they literally escape the sample if it isn't collected with zero headspace. Combining VOCs with the full metals panel plus chloride and fluoride gives the most complete non-PFAS picture of what's in the water.

How to collect your sample

Two container types, all from the same faucet and session. Fill the VOC glass vials FIRST to a 'positive meniscus' with zero headspace - any air bubble invalidates that test. The metals/minerals HDPE bottle is never rinsed. Chill immediately and ship the same day you collect, with the ice pack in the thermal mailer.

How the lab analyzes it

Three methods run in parallel. VOCs: Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (EPA 524.2) - volatile compounds are separated on a column then identified by their unique mass fingerprint. Metals: ICP-MS (EPA 200.8). Chloride & fluoride: Ion Chromatography (EPA 300.0).

Did you know
  • VOCs in tap water can off-gas into bathroom air during a hot shower - for some compounds, inhalation in the shower contributes as much exposure as drinking the water.
  • A single air bubble in a VOC vial can let volatile compounds escape before the sample ever reaches the lab - that's why the 'positive meniscus' fill technique matters.
The Sacred Sampling standard

Laboratory data — not estimates.

Independently operated, with no ties to filter or remediation companies. Every sample is analyzed by an accredited partner laboratory under EPA-referenced methods, with a documented chain of custody — and your data is yours.
